From the City of Apple Valley:

A vacancy currently exists on the City of Apple Valley’s Cemetery Advisory Committee for a three-year term beginning March 1, 2012. The seven-member Cemetery Advisory Committee is a standing committee with the full power and responsibility to investigate issues relating to the operation, care, and maintenance of Lebanon Cemetery of Apple Valley, as well as cemetery land needs. The Cemetery Advisory Committee votes on recommendations, which are then sent to the City Council for consideration. The committee shall also have the purpose and duties imposed upon it by Minnesota public cemetery laws.

This committee meets the third Tuesday in January, April, July, and October, beginning at 2 p.m., at the Apple Valley Municipal Center.

The City Council will fill this vacancy by appointment. Persons interested in submitting their names for consideration must file an application with the City Clerk by 4:30 p.m., Feb. 29, 2012.
