Video: Rosemount Wrestler Ready to Fulfill Olympic Dreams
Samuel Hazewinkel will compete in wrestling at the 2012 London Olympic games, which start Friday.
As a boy, Samuel Hazewinkel dreamed of being like his father and uncle, who both were Olympic Greco-Roman wrestlers in the late '60s and early '70s.
Hazewinkel, who grew up in and was an All-America wrestler at the University of Oklahoma, gets his chance this year after qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, according to a feature from the Pioneer Press.
Hazewinkel will compete in the 55-kilogram freestyle wrestling division, according to the Olympics website. All competition for that division, from qualifying rounds to the gold medal round, will be held Aug. 10.
