If you need to take care of business at any Apple Valley-Rosemount establishments, check to see whether they'll be open for your business from Sunday, Dec. 23 through the federal observation of Christmas on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Here are some schedules we've nailed down for you, but if you know of others—especially establishments that will be open—please leave them in the comments section below.

Here's the skinny on: 

...Food and Basic Necessities

• Rainbow Foods: Open Christmas Eve from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Christmas Day. Open for regular hours (6 a.m. to 11 p.m.) on Dec. 26.
• Cub Foods: All Cub locations in the south metro, including Rosemount and Apple Valley, will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen for normal business hours on Dec. 26 at 6 a.m.
• Byerly's in Burnsville: Normal hours on Dec. 23. The grocery section will close at 4 p.m. Wines & Spirits shops will close slightly later, at 4:30 p.m. The pharmacy and U.S. Bank location inside will close slightly earlier, at 2 p.m.
• Valley Natural Foods On Dec. 24, the co-op on the Burnsville-Apple Valley border will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The co-op will be closed all day on Dec. 25.

...Drug Stores

• The Cedar Avenue Walgreens will be open 24-7. The Pilot Knob location will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Day (the pharmacy will be closed on Dec. 25). The Rosemount Walgreens will be open on Christmas Eve from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Hours on Christmas Day run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Pharmacy is closed on Christmas Day, but open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve).

• The Galaxie Avenue CVS will be operating on its regular schedule on Christmas Eve, though the Minute Clinic will be closing early, at noon (and will be closed all day on Dec. 25). The main store portion will be open on Christmas Day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

...Big Box Stores

• Apple Valley Walmart: Will close for the holiday at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Closed all day Dec. 25.
• Apple Valley Super Target: Target will be open Dec. 23 from 8 a.m. to midnight, Dec. 24 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and closed on Dec. 25. Target will reopen on Wednesday at 7 a.m.

...Restaurants

• Enjoy! Restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• IHOP will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Day.
• Perkins will be open until 8 p.m. Christmas Eve. Perkins will reopen on Christmas Day at 8 a.m.
• Denny's open 24-7, with no interruption.

...Liquor and Wine

• Rosemount Liquor and Wine Cellars will be open on Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Closed on Christmas Day.
• Apple Valley Municipal Liquor Stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas Day.

...The Movies

Carmike Cinema 15 will be open for regular hours both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

...Government Services

• All Apple Valley city offices (at the Apple Valley Municipal Center and Central Maintenance Facility) will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Staff will resume work on Wednesday. In Rosemount, city offices will close at noon on Dec. 24 and be closed all day on Tuesday.

• Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan public schools will be out of session Friday, Dec. 21 through Jan. 1; school resumes Jan. 2.

• The Dakota County Western Service Center and all other Dakota County offices will be open on Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed all day on Tuesday, Dec. 25. Staff will resume work on Wednesday.

• Apple Valley's Galaxie Library, and all other Dakota County libraries, will be closed both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The libraries will be open beginning Wednesday.

• The United States Postal Service branch in Apple Valley, as well as all others, will be closed on Dec. 25. There will be no mail delivery that day.
