The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) and the  City of Rosemount will celebrate the Grand Opening of the Rosemount Transit Station, 14550 Burnley Avenue, Rosemount from 4-6 p.m. today (Tuesday, Dec. 18)  The event is free and open to the public.  The facility began operations on Monday, December 10.

                Speakers for the event include:  Rosemount Mayor William Droste, Dakota County Commissioner and Chair of the Community Development Agency (CDA) Tom Egan and Metropolitan Council Representative Wendy Wulff.  MVTA Chair Gary Hansen will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.  Music will be provided by a Brass Quintet of Rosemount High School students:  Cole Jobin – Trumpet, Devon Lawrence – Trumpet, Jeremy Laurel – French Horn, Blake Kaner – Trombone and Andrew Johnson – Bass Trombone.
