Meet Allegro's 1st - 3rd grade Choir Directors - April Rios & Becky Litzau Asche!

BECKY LITZAU, Director of Vivace South (Lakeville), has enjoyed teaching elementary music since 2004 after receiving her training at Bemidji State University in K-12 Vocal and Classroom Music.  While taking graduate music education Kodaly and Orff Levels at the University of St. Thomas, Becky became involved with the Kodaly Chapter of Minnesota, and has served as the Secretary and as a Member at Large. Having presented at the MMEA Conference, Becky is a premiere leader for interactive technology in the music classroom as the SMART Board Music Education Consultant for Tierney Brothers, Inc.; providing professional development for music educators across the mid-west, while also spearheading the Interactive Whiteboard Summer Professional Development workshops at the Perpich Center for Arts and Education. Becky currently teaches 3rd -5th grade

music at Groveland Elementary in Minnetonka.  She also values bringing music to families through Musikgarten, a birth to age 9 music program, during the summertime.

APRIL RIOS, Director of Vivace North, has taught elementary music in Minnesota since 2005.  She received her training at Bemidji State University in Vocal and Classroom Music grades K-12 and is currently completing her graduate degree at the University of St. Thomas (Master of Arts in Music Education with a dual concentration in the Kodaly and Orff-Schulwerk methodologies).  April is actively involved  in music education in MN and currently serves as Treasurer for

the Kodaly Chapter of MN and is a member of the Orff Chapter of MN, as well as the Minnesota Music Educators Association.  April taught K-6 music for three years at Homecroft Elementary in St. Paul before beginning her current position at Eisenhower Elementary in Hopkins.
