2 Apple Valley Students Crowned as Miss MN Valley Royalty

The two girls, Alissa Jones and Skye Davis, who attend Apple Valley schools, were chosen to sit on the court during a ceremony earlier this month.

Two Apple Valley students have been chosen as Miss MN Valley Royalty.

Alissa Jones, 15, a student at , was named Queen of Fall and Skye Davis, 12, a student at , was chosen to be Princess Aurora Borealis.

, Jones is the daughter of Teresa Lebaron and Keith Jones of Burnsville. Davis is the daughter of Yvette and Andy Davis of Burnsville.

The two were crowned on Aug. 6 during the 2012-2013 Miss MN Valley Royalty program at the  in Shakopee. During the next year, Jones and Davis will represent Carver, Dakota and Scott County towns at public events such as festivals, coronations, parades and fundraisers. 

Jones and Davis are in good company. New royalty also includes Madison Markgraf of Shakopee, Queen of Summer; Shyan Iesh of Belle Plaine, Queen of Winter; Jessica Rollins of Shakopee, Queen of Solar Eclipse; Rachel Kosek of Shakopee, Queen of Spring; Elizabeth King of Prior Lake, Princess Shooting Star; Brianna Tompkins of Shakopee, Princess Aurora Australis; Diana Espino of Shakopee, Little Miss Snowflake; Rosey Davis of Shakopee, Little Miss Maple Leaf; Montana Swaja of Shakopee, Little Miss Sunflower; and Shyla Moore of Shakopee, Mini Miss Rosebud.

The Miss MN Valley Scholarship Program is a relatively new organization. The non-profit was established in 2009 with the aim of providing scholarship money for 16- to 18-year-olds in the Minnesota Valley Region, which includes Belle Plaine, Bloomington, Burnsville, Chanhassen, Chaska, Eden Prairie, Jordan, New Prague, Prior Lake, Savage and Shakopee.
