The Rosemount Lions Spring Egg Hunt will feature 6,000 colorful eggs and 10,000 pieces of candy for local children to find this Saturday.

Take 6,000 colorful eggs, 10,000 pieces of candy, add a mad scramble of eager kids, and you have the makings of one very happy Saturday morning.

That will be the scene this Saturday, March 31, when the Rosemount Lions Spring Egg Hunt will be held on the Ames Soccer Complex grounds located at . The popular event will begin at 10 a.m. sharp.

Three age divisions of children (1-3, 4-6, and 7-10) will be turned loose to gather up as many eggs and candy as they can find during annual event put on by the Rosemount Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Rosemount Lions Club. Children will also have the chance to find a lucky ‘golden egg’ which they can turn in for a special prize.

All children must be accompanied by an adult and it is recommended to arrive early so you don’t miss out on the hunt. The eggs and candy are typically gathered up rather quickly once the hunt begins. It is also suggested to bring a basket or bag for the little ones to stash away their bounty.

A familiar furry bunny will be amongst the flurry to provide additional photo opportunities.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item, paper products, toiletries and/or infant items to donate in support of the local 360 Communities and Family Resource Center.

In the event of inclement weather, the hunt will be rescheduled for Saturday, April 7. For more information you can call Rosemount Parks and Recreation at 651-322-6000.

The Ames Soccer Complex is located at 1300 145th Street East in Rosemount.
