Cedar Avenue Construction: Buses to Begin Driving on Shoulders Nov. 19

Editor’s Note: The following is the weekly Cedar Avenue construction update from Dakota County. This update covers construction planned through Nov. 17.

CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE THROUGH NOV. 17

• Dodd Blvd to Upper 164th Street/Griffon Trail
Miscellaneous work and repairs. 

• Upper 164th Street/Griffon Trail to 160th Street 
Miscellaneous work and repairs.  

• 160th Street to south of 155th Street 
Miscellaneous work and repairs. 
Plant and tree installation.

• South of 155th Street to 150th Street
Miscellaneous paving in preparation for winter.
Plant and tree installation.
Sod installation and seeding.
Install the light poles along Cedar Avenue.

• 150th Street to south of 140th Street
Miscellaneous paving in preparation for winter.
Pond construction near 143rd Street.
Constructing the architectural monuments along 147th Street.
Plant and tree installation.
Sod installation and seeding.
Working on pedestrian push buttons for the signal systems.
Install the light poles along Cedar Avenue.

• South of 140th Street to Upper 136th Street
Miscellaneous paving in preparation for winter.
Plant and tree installation.
Sod installation and seeding.
Working on pedestrian push buttons for the signal systems.
Install the light poles along Cedar Avenue.

TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES

Additional temporary lane closures may occur throughout the entire project area, except during the following times:
• Northbound Cedar Avenue – morning rush hour
• Southbound Cedar Avenue – afternoon rush hour

SIDEWALK CLOSURES

The sidewalks along Cedar Avenue between 140th Street and 157th Street may be closed during construction. Please follow the posted detours.

Speed limits may be reduced in the work zone. Please don’t go around barriers into construction zones.

UPCOMING ACCESS CHANGES 

Buses are scheduled to begin using the bus shoulders on Monday, Nov. 19.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
