Cedar Avenue Construction: Expect Flashing Lights on Friday

Traffic signals will be flashing all red—meaning all-way stop—on Cedar Avenue from 153rd Street to 140th Street between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

Editor’s Note: The following is the weekly Cedar Avenue construction update from Dakota County. This update covers construction planned through Nov. 3.

CEDAR AVENUE—153RD STREET TO 140TH STREET
The signal systems on Cedar Avenue from 153rd Street to 140th Street will be on flashing red (all-way stop) on Friday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. to make adjustments to the signal systems and prepare for opening additional lanes to traffic.

CEDAR AVENUE—155TH STREET/WHITNEY DRIVE TO SOUTH OF UPPER 136TH STREET
Northbound and southbound Cedar Avenue are currently reduced to two thru lanes of traffic in each direction from 155th Street/Whitney Drive to south of Upper 136th Street. Additional lanes are scheduled to open to traffic on Friday, Oct. 26. Temporary lane closures will be needed after that date to complete some of the remaining work for the season.

CEDAR AVENUE AT 142ND STREET
The median crossing on Cedar Avenue at 142nd Street is closed so the median can be reconstructed. Traffic is no longer able to make a left turn from Cedar Avenue onto 142nd Street. Northbound traffic accessing 142nd Street west of Cedar Avenue should follow the posted detour. This closure will remain in place until Friday, Oct. 26.
