Fourth of July Freedom Days Schedule

Friday, June 24th

• Dancin’ & Cruisin’
• 4:00p.m. Car Show Cruise at AV Ford (Registration will begin at 3:00p.m.).  The cruise will be 10-15 miles starting at AV Ford and ending at Bogarts.
• 4:30p.m Registration for the Dancin’ and Cruisin’ Car Show begins at Bogarts in Apple Valley (14917 Garret Avenue, one block NE of Cedar Avenue and County Rd 42)
• 6:00-9:00p.m. Dancin’ and Cruisin’ Car Show at Bogarts
  • Vendor Fair 6:00-9:00p.m
  • DJ Sounds 6:00-8:00p.m.
  • GB Leighton performance at 9:00p.m. – tickets are $10 and kids under 12 enter free

Sunday June 26th

• Music In the Park – Featuring Bob & the Beachcombers
  • Location:  Kelley Park – 6855 Fortino Street
  • Time:  7:00-8:30p.m.
  • All Ages
  • Free to the public
  • Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and plan on a fun filled evening!

Wednesday, June 29th

• Kids Fishing Derby
  • Location:   Lac Lavon Park, 15610 Highview Drive
  • Time:  6:00-8:00p.m.
  • Ages 5-11
  • Free
  • Bring your rod and reel.
  • Bate Provided

Friday, July 1st

• J&K Amusements Carnival
  • Location:  Johnny Cake Ridge Park-East, 5800 140th Street West
  • Time:  5:00-10:00p.m.
  • Ages: Children & Families
  • Wristband Special!  6:00-9:00p.m. unlimited rides for $10.00.

Friday, July 1st

• Freedom Days Mixed Up Doubles Tennis Tournament
  • Location: Apple Valley High School Sports Arena, 14452 Hayes Road
  • Time:  5:00-7:00p.m.
  • Ages:  High School & College Players
  • Fee: $20 per team
  • Register by phone at 952-953-2366 or in-person at the arena.
  • Find a partner and come play some competitive doubles!  (Mixed doubles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles teams are all welcome!)

Saturday, July 2nd

• J&K Amusements Carnival
  • Location: Johnny Cake Ridge Park – East, 5800 140th Street West
  • Time: 11:00a.m.-10:00p.m.
  • Fee:  Purchase tickets on-site 

• Apple Valley Freedom Days Tennis Tournament
  • Location: Apple Valley High School Arena, 14452 Hayes Road
  • 1st and 2nd grade:  9-10a.m.
  • 3rd and 4th grade:  10-11a.m.
  • 5th and 6th grade:  11am-Noon
  • 7th – 12th grade:  Noon-1:30p.m.
  • Fee:  $10 per player

  • Fee:  Reasonable fees apply to pony rides and petting zoo.  There are also costs associated with food and beverage.

  • Times:  Race Day Registration from 6:30-7:45a.m.
  • 8:00am Start Time for 2 and 5 Mile Races
  • 9:30am Start Time for Half-Pint Half Mile
  • Ages: All Ages for 2 & 5 Mile Races.  10 years and under for the Half-Pint Half Mile
  • Fees: 2 & 5 Mile Race:
    • $7 Advance Fee (race only)
    • $15 Advance Fee (race plus a t-shirt)
    • $14 Day of Event (race only)
    • $22 Day of Event (race plus a t-shirt)
    • Half-Pint Half Mile Race – FREE
• Registration: Advanced registration is taken at the Apple Valley Community Center and ends at 10:00p.m. on June 27.

Fourth of July Freedom Days Parade

Location: Starts at Fireside Drive & Pennock Avenue. North on Pennock Avenue, Left/West onto 145th Street, Right/North onto Hayes Road ending at Apple Valley High School

• Time:  1:00p.m.

City Ordinance states that parade spectators may not place lawn chairs, blankets, tarps, tents or other personal items onto city sidewalks, trails, boulevards, curbs and streets until 24 hours prior to the parade.  This means you are not allowed to place personal items out until 1 p.m. on July 3.  All items that are found on city property prior to 24 hours to the start of the parade will be picked up and stored at the Apple Valley High School Sports Arena, 14452 Hayes Road.  Items will be available for pick up during arena hours for up to 10 days after the parade.  Information: 952-953-2300.
