Expect Blowing Snow and Wind in Dakota County This Weekend

A winter weather advisory takes effect at midnight and runs through Saturday afternoon.

The memorable winter continues with another winter weather advisory issued for Dakota County and several counties in Minnesota.

The winter weather advisory is in effect starting Saturday at midnight through 6 p.m. of the same day.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen:

ANOTHER BURST OF SNOW AND WIND IS EXPECTED TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY WHEN ANOTHER SYSTEM DROPS DOWN OUT OF CANADA. FAR WESTERN AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA WILL ONLY SEE AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW...BUT WINDS BETWEEN 30 AND 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED ON SATURDAY CREATING AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. FARTHER NORTH AND EAST...NEAR THE I-94 CORRIDOR...BLUSTERY WINDS AND A FEW INCHES OF NEW SNOW COULD MAKE FOR DIFFICULT TRAVEL LATE TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY.

IMPACTS FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW: SNOW WILL SPREAD ACROSS MINNESOTA AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AND LAST UNTIL SATURDAY MORNING. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW ARE EXPECTED.

The blowing snow could reduce visibility and result in snow covered roads.
