Get Out This Weekend, Rosemount

The holiday weekend is just around the corner with lots of Freedom Celebration festivities to check out.

Celebrate the 4th of July with fun activities, junk food and music throughout the weekend. Take the family to a carnival, festival and parade.

When/Where: 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; Johnny Cake Ridge Park, Apple Valley

When/Where: 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Sunday; Johnny Cake Ridge Park, Apple Valley

Why Go: Everything a festival has to offer. Enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, a carnival, games, a human hamster ball, police cars, fire trucks, a kids' parade, a DJ and music.

Pricing: Free admission, some fees apply to rides and zoo.

When/Where: 1 p.m. Monday; Fireside Drive to Apple Valley High School

Why Go: Celebrate the 4th with a first-class parade and then watch fireworks in the evening.

When/Where: 8:30 p.m. Monday; Central Park, Eagan

Why Go: Join your neighbors for an outdoor concert and cut a rug.

Pricing: Free

When/Where: 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday; Kelley Park, Apple Valley

Why Go: Join your neighbors for a free outdoor jazz performance and a cold beverage.
