2. Home Depot Kids Workshop

When/Where: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, all Home Depot stores. Apple Valley Home Depot: 15101 Flagstaff Ave., Apple Valley

Why Go: Celebrate the budding spring by taking your kids to make a planter basket. The activity is geared toward kids ages 5 through 12, and they even get a pint-sized orange Home Depot apron.

3. Decorate a Craft Easter Egg

When/Where: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Michaels, 14890 Florence Trl, Apple Valley

Why Go: Another creative way to celebrate the season. Encourage your kids' artsiness by having them decorate an Easter egg that won't end up spoiling. Recommended for ages 3 and up.

5. Catch a Free Flick

When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday, Theatres at Mall of America, 401 South Ave., Bloomington

Why Go: Let your kids watch a movie on a big screen for a little price—ie: nothing. This weekend's movie pick is "Muppets from Space."
