Register Your Neighborhood for Night to Unite in Apple Valley

Apple Valley's annual get-together of neighbors is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 7.

Registration is open for neighborhood residents to sign up to host a Night to Unite block party this year.

Night to Unite—set for the evening of Aug. 7 this year—is a special night for neighbors to lock their doors and head outside to connect with each other, not just to be social, but to make the community a safer place to live.

The , and Apple Valley City Council members will also be out to discuss the important issues in residents' neighborhood.

“We will go visit as many parties as we can,” Crime Prevention Specialist Pam Walter . “It gives city officials a chance to connect with the community.”

Communities across the United States have celebrated National Night Out for more than 25 years, which had the same goals, but a few years ago the city of Apple Valley joined a statewide initiative instead. This will be Night to Unite's fourth year.

Last year, more than 100 Apple Valley parties registered.

Residents also will be able to attend the Business Watch picnic, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. that day at , for food, prizes and networking.
