POLL: Vote for Rosemount Patch's 'Person of the Year'

Who did you vote for? Share why in our comments section.

Who deserves to be recognized as Rosemount Patch's Person of the Year?

During the past week, readers have submitted names of people they feel deserve the honor. We received two nominations, which you'll find in the attached poll. Below, you'll find an answer to a question about each nominee from those who nominated them. We did not change the answers at all. What was submitted to us is what you see.

The question I asked is why the person nominated should be chosen as our Person of the Year.

You can vote once a day. We will accept votes until 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2.

Feel free to comment at the bottom about why you voted the way you did. Whomever receives the most votes is Rosemount Patch's Person of the Year and will have a story written about his or her efforts.

Person of the Year nominations:

  • Denise Kniefel

Dr. Kniefel goes above and beyond for the Rosemount Community. She is
president of the Rosemount Rotary Club, active in her church and volunteers at Shannon Park Elementary, where her kids attend school.

  • Diane Moeller

Diane has volunteered at the Food Shelf in Rosemount for years.  She works there every Monday and often spends extra hours there organizing the food, running food drives, etc. She is an asset to the community. In addition, she volunteers many hours for Rosemount Wrestling. Diane is one of the best people I know and is constantly doing for others through her work at her church or the CAP Agency in Rosemount.

Diane likes to stay under the radar...she does not like to get attention for her good deeds and prefers to stay and work behind the scenes. She is selfless and exemplifies the true meaning of being a volunteer. She does not do these things to get noticed or be recognized, rather she does them out of a genuine desire to help others.
