Winter is coming. Lakeville, and most of the Twin Cities for that matter, is expected to get dumped on with nearly half a foot of snow by Sunday night.
As a result, the National Weather Service in Chanhassen has issued a winter storm watch and warning for parts of the metro area, whaich are both in effect from Saturday evening to Sunday afternoon.
Lakeville is expected to see 3-5 inches of snow while parts north of Dakota County are forecast to receive 6-8 inches.
Windy conditions may lead to blowing and drifting snow and "near-blizzard" conditions in open areas, according to the NWS.
