What Are You Doing This Weekend?

Here are just a few suggestions for weekend outings or activities.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five possibilities:

1. Become 'Irish for a Day'
The Rosemount Rotary Club's fundraiser offers traditional Irish fare—“corned beef, cabbage, parsleyed potatoes, soda bread, salad and more,” according to the Rotary Club's website—as well as a D.J., raffle, silent auction and cash bar. doors open at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rosemount Community Center, and dinner is served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door.

2. Celts Pub
The winner of the local Patch poll of the best places to enjoy St. Patrick's Day offers a menu that includes a nice variety of Irish offerings. And the Friday night fish fry is also extremely popular.

3. Take in a movie
There are no “must-see” choices in this week's slate of new movie releases, but reviews of three options can be found here, on the Huffington Post. Your choices: Will Farrell as a Mexican cowboy; Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in the new 21 Jump Street; or Jason Segel as a 30-year-old slacker who still lives in the basement of his childhood home.

4. Get ready to grow
Learn how to grow your own produce and flowers in small spaces,” at the Robert Trail library. The two-hour program starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Robert Trail Meeting Room. For more information check out the Dakota County Library website.

5. Just go outside
High temperatures are expected to remain in the 70s through the weekend, and while this hasn't exactly been the harshest winter on record it's still nice to be able to shed the heavy coats and dig those shorts out of the back of your closet.
