Apple Valley Music Group Gets Regional Arts Council Grant

Dragonfly received $2,200 to create and perform a new folk music performance in Apple Valley.

Apple Valley arts group Dragonfly received a $2,200 grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council for Tales & Tunes 2.0, a free two-hour afternoon performance of traditional and new folk music written and performed by Dragonfly organization members.

The performance is scheduled for September at the in Apple Valley, according to a news release.

The Metropolitan Regional Arts Council's Community Arts grant program provides funds of up to $5,000 each for groups who wish to offer arts activities to their communities in the seven-county metro area.

The grant applications go through a peer review of six criteria: artistic quality, artistic challenge, ability, community need/support, diversity and access.
