Bachelorette Contestant Has an Apple Valley DWI in His Past

Brandon Andreen, a contestant on the ninth season of the Bachelorette, was convicted in 2008 of driving while intoxicated in Apple Valley.

Brandon Andreen, a 6-foot-2-inch Minnesotan model competing for the heart of 27-year-old bridal stylist in the ninth season of "The Bachelorette," has a Dakota County criminal history.

In May 2008, the Blaine-native was convicted of driving while intoxicated in Apple Valley, according to court records.

Andreen was fined more than $500. A Dakota County judge reduced the sum after he wrote a letter to the court about "what I've learned from this and why I'll never reoffend."

The DWI wasn't the first run-in with the law for Andreen, a Tough Mudder competitor and Bear Grylls fan who once rode in a Lamborghini at 175 miles per hour.

According to the tabloid The National Inquirer, Andreen was fined more than $1,000 for calling in a bomb threat at a General Motors plant while he was in high school.

The second episode of "The Bachelorette" airs tonight on ABC.
