Banjo Player Takes His Tunes—and Documentary—to the Rosemount Library

Craig Evans traveled across the continent filming a documentary on banjo makers. Now, he wants to share his findings with Rosemount residents.

Craig Evans, a Rosemount Area Arts Council member, will strum a few tunes and talk about the history of American banjo makers during a free event at the Robert Trail Library.

The musical event will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 7 at the library's meeting room. On his 60th birthday, Evans traveled roughly 12,000 miles across North America to conduct interviews with 26 open-back banjo makers, according to a Sun Thisweek report. Those interviews were then compiled into a three-volume documentary, "Conversations with North American Banjo Builders".

Evans is expected to discuss the trip during the event and showcase souvenirs, according to Sun Thisweek.
