Today will be a lovely early-summer day. Hey, in mid-August, we'll take it.

  1. It’s going to feel like May today, with a high around 78 and light northwest winds, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be even more pleasant, with clear skies, a low around 58 and winds becoming calm. Open all the windows and listen to the tree frogs.   
  2. If the forecast holds true, it will be a lovely night for a concert at the Minnesota Zoo amphitheater in Apple Valley. How about ? Come as early as 4 p.m., wander around the zoo and head for the amphitheater at 7, with the concert beginning at 7:30. Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster.   
  3. If you can’t get tickets to see George, how about learning about the ? University of Minnesota entomologist Marla Spivak and graduate researcher Mike Goblirsch will discuss bee biology from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Minnesota Zoo. (If you listen closely, you might hear a note or two coming from the amphitheater.) 
  4. Did you miss the Rosemount Farmers Market yesterday? Not to worry – head for from noon to 5 p.m. at Market Plaza, Holyoke Avenue and 208th Street. Seriously, the corn and tomatoes right now? Totally worth it.
  5. On this day in 1998, President Bill Clinton admitted in taped testimony that he had an “improper physical relationship” with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. He also admitted that he had “misled people” about the relationship.
