It's Time for December Weekend Fun and Music

See what's in store for the south metro this weekend.

It’s the holiday season. So, it makes a lot of sense that this weekend’s events calendar is dominated by holiday-themed activities.

When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday at the , 12600 Nicollet Ave, Burnsville

Why Go: A musical extravaganza with Christmas music and happy bell ringing with local musical favorite Lorie Line.

Price: $47 each, or $42 each for groups of 10 or more

When/Where: 7 p.m. Friday at , 860 Cliff Rd., Eagan

Why Go: It’s a family-friendly movie in the park with hot chocolate and popcorn. You can bring a sled for fun on the sledding hill, just in case it snows before Friday night.

When/Where: One-hour sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the , 14603 Hayes Rd., Apple Valley

Why Go: It’s Santa, for goodness sake! Following breakfast, provided by McDonald’s of Apple Valley, each child will take part in a variety of holiday activities, crafts, games, and have their picture taken with Santa.

Price: $10, registration is required

When/Where: 2 p.m. Sunday at the , 12600 Nicollet Ave, Burnsville

Why Go: The Dakota Valley Symphony and Chorus perform a fully staged production of an American classic: Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian Carlo Menotti. A family favorite for two generations along with other Christmas favorites is a treat your family won’t want to miss!

Tickets: $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $5 for students

When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the , 20965 Holyoke Ave, Lakeville

Why Go: Fill your holiday season with musical merriment at Monroe Crossing’s traveling Bluegrass & Gospel Holiday Show. Their airtight harmonies, razor sharp arrangements, and on-stage rapport make them audience favorites across the United States and Canada.
