Violinist and Pianist Will Take the Stage for Local Benefit Concert

Violinist Tarn Travers and Pianist Matthew McCright will perform on April 14 as part of a benefit for 360 Communities.

Violinist Tarn Travers and Pianist Matthew McCright will present a concert as part of the Open Door Music Series on Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m. Featured works include Sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms as well as the First Rhapsody by Bartok.

The pair has a established a wonderful performing relationship ever since meeting by chance on a flight as each was headed to a different gig, in fact different cities. They have collaborated in chamber music and as part of Ensemble 61. Tarn Travers is currently the Artist-in Residence at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and Matthew McCright is part of the piano faculty at Carleton College.

The Event is held at Ss. Martha and Mary Episcopal Church (4180 Lexington Ave South, Eagan, MN 55123, Phone: 651-681-0219, Web: www.mandm.org) The concert series is in its sixth season of providing music to feed the hungry. Concerts are free and open to the public.

$10 suggested donations are gratefully accepted to support the important work of 360 Communities (www.360communities.org) as they combat hunger throughout Dakota County. Concertgoers also are asked to bring non-perishable items to help restock the 360 Communities food shelves.
