Test of Weather Warning Sirens Scheduled for Wednesday

Though it's the Fourth of July, the sirens test usually scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month will go on.

A test of Dakota County's weather warning sirens will go on as scheduled at 1 p.m. Wednesday (July 4), even though it's a holiday, according to city of Apple Valley and Rosemount announcements.

Siren testing is scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month.

After that knocked out power and caused damage for many, officials began to investigate why storm sirens didn't sound for that particular incident. In Dakota County, sirens are sounded beginning with severe thunderstorm warnings.
