Giuseppe's Brings Locally Owned Flavor to Rosemount

The eatery, which opened in September, offers cooked-to-order Italian takeout.

Giuseppe’s Pasta Alforno is bringing a marriage of classic Italian cooking and carryout convenience to Rosemount.

The restaurant, which opened Sept. 1, has enjoyed a warm reception from the Rosemount community.

“It’s the old fashioned way of food,” said Alex Awada, the head chef and owner of Giuseppe’s.

The menu includes Italian staples, such as spaghetti Bolognese and sausage di Sicilia. Everything is cooked to order and Awada prides himself in not having a microwave on site, ensuring that the there is always a certain homemade quality to the food.

Apparently, this approach is paying off. Awada stated that he already has several customers who order takeout from Giuseppe’s multiple times every week. He also told Patch that Rosemount residents have been known to call him for cooking advice, which he always gives obligingly.

“I’m like Santa Claus,” joked Awada.

Guiseppe’s is independently owned, a characteristic that sets it apart from many eateries in Rosemount. In a town where several popular restaurants are one of many in a national franchise, Giuseppe’s has only one other location in Burnsville.

“People are looking for the non-chain type restaurants,” said mayor Bill Droste.

Although Droste has yet to try Giuseppe’s, he’s in favor of increasing the number of independently owned restaurants in Rosemount. The mayor noted that the variety provided by locally owned restaurants plays an important role in creating a richer community.

Richer, and, of course, more delicious.

Giuseppe’s is located at 15092 Claret Ave. and can be contacted at (651) 423-4455.
