Hawkins Inc. to Begin Building in Rosemount

A company that produces and distributes chemical will be coming soon to Rosemount.

Hawkins Inc., a company that produces and distributes chemicals has purchased 28 acres in Rosemount and will begin building soon.

Minneapolis-based Hawkins, which announced the acquisition Tuesday, said the facility will be ready to open by the end of next year, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

The company owns another site near the Mississippi River, but felt purchasing the land in Rosemount was a good move due to flooding issues the company has had over the past five year, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal said.

"The site provides capacity for future business growth and lessens our dependence on our flood-prone sites on the Mississippi River," Patrick Hawkins, Hawkins, Inc. CEO, said in a press release. "While we expect to transfer some blending and manufacturing activity to the Rosemount site, we have no intention of closing any sites we currently operate."
