Plans in the Works for New AutoZone Store in Apple Valley

A building permit and site plan for a new, 13,000-square-foot auto accessories store is up for Apple Valley City Council approval on Thursday.

Plans are in the works for a new, 13,000-square-foot building for an AutoZone auto parts and accessories store in Apple Valley.

The Apple Valley City Council will be asked to approve plans and a building permit at its 7 p.m. Thursday meeting at the . The Apple Valley Planning Commission approved plans at its meeting last week.

The building would be located on the east side of Foliage Avenue and south of County Road 42, near and , on about 1.75 acres of land, according to a memo to the planning commission.

The other 5.47 acres that was initially combined with the AutoZone land to form a 7.22-acre parcel would be used for future development.

Existing streets would provide access to the store. Commissioners previously were concerned with how delivery trucks would access the site, for which the company provided a plan last week. Sidewalks also were added to the plan to allow for pedestrian access.
