Vicki Swanson Is The Best Choice For Dakota County Commissioner

I think a lot of people think it is a foregone conclusion that Chris Gerlach will be the next Dakota County Commissioner to replace Will Branning.

But before you make that conclusion, check out Cedar Avenue. Like what you see? Having fun traversing all of those road blocks and detours? Chris Gerlach helped to make that happen. 

Ignoring light rail possbilities, Gerlach told us that Bus Rapid Transit was a better and cheaper alternative. 

Better? Taking our overloaded road system and adding a bus lane right in the middle of it all, doesn't sound better. 

And cheaper? How many of you have had to make adjustments on your commutes. How much time and money has it cost you personally? Maybe BRT is less costly in terms of initial investments....but long term? I have my doubts. We still have to maintain roads and buses add to the wear and tear at a higher level.

Vicki Swanson has been a transit advocate for many years. She has experience in environmental and big picture concerns. 

We don't need another hyper-partisan voice as a county commissioner. We need someone who thinks of things in a practical, common sense manner.
