Meet Bravo! Co-Director Amy Jo Cherner!

Amy Jo Cherner is in her seventh year of teaching, her sixth at South View Middle School in Edina, MN.  She holds a B.M. from Drake University and a Master’s Degree in Music Education with a Choral Conducting emphasis from University of St. Thomas.  She is an active member of MMEA and ACDA, where she held the post of Registrar during 2011 and served on the MN Sings committee.

Additionally, for the past seven  years, Amy Jo has been Co-Director of BRAVO! at Eastview High School, which combines three of Eastview’s award-winning performance departments: vocal music, jazz band and dance.  She is currently a member of the Minnesota Valley Women’s Chorale, under the direction of her mom, Judy Sagen, where she also serves as Secretary on the MVWC board. 

She and her husband Dave welcomed their first child, Elias Jacob (EJ), in July 2010 and will welcome baby boy #2 in late May.

Fun Fact:

·Besides co-directing 7 Bravo shows, I also performed in 6 Bravo shows (2 in the children’s chorus, and 4 during high school).
