5 Things to Know: Spooky Fundraiser Planned, Public Skating Starts

Section and state sports are also scheduled throughout the week for Apple Valley and Eastview teams.

1. Public skating at the Apple Valley Sports Arena begins Sunday. The rink's public skating schedule for the season will be 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Wednesdays, and 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Cost is $4 per person per session.

2. State and section tournaments are in full swing for  and high school sports teams this week. Check out —state soccer for Eastview, and football, volleyball and cross country sections for both schools—and get out there to cheer on your favorite local team.

3. Starting your holiday shopping early? The Apple Valley store for ; the school will get credit for all in-store purchases made on Tuesday, as well as for online purchases made Tuesday through Saturday with a special online code. Check out for more information.

4. In other fundraiser news, continues to raise money for its new pipe organ. At 6 p.m. Saturday, they'll host a family-friendly Halloween party event that's open to the public. The "Pizza and Pipes" fundraiser will collect $3 per person for a pizza and salad dinner, a costume parade and an organ performance of spooky songs fitting for this time of year.

5. The Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school district board will hear a recap of the district's most recent audit report, as well as recognize National Merit Scholarship semifinalists and commended students at its 6 p.m. Monday meeting at in Apple Valley.
