Blotter: Woman Falls from Balcony, Gucci Belt Goes Missing

Police also investigated an incident involving a very aggressive door-to-door salesman, who allegedly took the "hard sell" a little too far.

Last Tuesday, Eagan Police were called to an apartment building to care for a woman who plunged from a third floor balcony and hit her head. The call came in from the 3000 block of Eagandale Place around 5:08 p.m. The caller said the woman fell between 10 and 29 feet. She apparently survived and was sitting up and answering questions by the end of the incident.

July 12

8:27 a.m.—"Towmaster" skid loader trailer reported stolen from construction firm on Lone Oak Circle.
1:12 p.m.—Spent homemade bottle bomb found at an address on the 3300 block of Rolling Hills Drive. Found in the front yard. Apparently occurred around 2 a.m. that morning. 
6:02 p.m.—Bus versus car accident reported on 4000 block of Nicols Road.
9:26 p.m.—Disturbing the peace. Police called to address on the 3100 block of Alden Pond Lane. Reporting party said that his ex-girlfriend came over, intoxicated. The two got into an argument about her using dish soap in the bathtub. Both admitted to hitting each other. No injuries. Neither wanted to pursue charges.

July 13

1:47 p.m.—Car on fire, 1300 block of Lone Oak Road. Fully engulfed.
6:11 p.m.—Residential fire on 4400 block of Oak Chase Road. Upstairs level in flames. All residents out.
6:46 p.m.—Man passed out in silver Mercedes in front of convenience store on the 1500 block of Cliff Road. Blood alcohol level .356.

July 14

6:56 a.m.—Vandalism to car on 1400 block of Kingswood Road. Driver golf club used to smash doors. Windows broken. Crowbar not the ground. Golf club in two pieces.
11:24 p.m.—Report of semi-tractor trailer driver leaving an address on the 800 block of Apollo Road drunk. The driver backed into another semi and then took off. Apprehended and jailed.

July 15

10:17 a.m.—Police called to domestic on 3500 block of Lexington for an 11-year-old boy who is "out of control." Caller reported that the boy pushed, scratched and hit his pregnant mother with a shoe6:09 p.m.—Police responded to report of a threatening door-to-door salesman  on the 2000 block of Flint Lane. Caller said that a salesperson with "Budget Exteriors" came to the door, tried to force his way in after the homeowner said they weren't interested. Reporting party said he had to push the man away to keep him from coming inside. Salesman started yelling, threatened to come back and kill the homeowner. Salesman said he never threatened to kill the other man, but did challenge him to a fight. No charges.
9:26 p.m.—Report of man pouring beer over his girlfriend's head during an argument on the 2100 block of Cool Stream Circle.

July 16

2:38 a.m.—Fire on fence, believed to be arson, started with diesel or regular gasoline. Fire out by the time authorities arrive.
11:40 a.m.—Caller reported that an unknown person drove through their lawn and hit their mailbox. Car parts were strewn through the yard. The homeowner managed to get the license plate number and a description of the car. Police tracked down the suspect, who said theta he hadn't driven the car last night, and couldn't explain damage to the car. Damage to the car's passenger side wheel well matched exactly a piece found in the yard.
2:14 p.m.—Shopping cart full of diapers and Tide detergent stolen from Cub Foods on Cliff Lake Road. Suspects fled the scene in a black conversion van. Similar theft reported at the Cub Foods on the east side of town.
9:47 p.m.—Police responded to a complaint on the 1100 block of Town Centre Drive. Caller stated that his roommate walks in on the caller's girlfriend when she is in the shower. Also became involved in an altercation about a paper towel holder that escalated into threats to decry property. Roommate allegedly threatened to hire a hit man.

July 17

5:08 p.m.—Call from a 93-year-old man at a senior living facility, who claimed that another resident, 80, was sneaking into an 88-year-old woman's apartment and sexually assaulting her every night. Staff at the facility reviewed surveillance video and discovered no such occurrence. Calls believed to be motivated by jealousy. 

July 18

12:26 a.m.—Caller reported that about 20 people were outside their home on the 4200 block of Sunrise Road, yelling and threatening to break into the reporting party's home. Police came and broke up the group. The origin of the disturbance was a fight on Facebook.
4:10 a.m.—Hit and run on the 3800 block of Princeton Trail. A one car crash. Female driver fled the scene. When police caught up with her they found blood and hair on the steering wheel. 
10:48 a.m.—Extra patrols called in after report of summer school kids smoking behind the Shell station on Diffley and Nicols. Pack of Marlboro Blend No. 27 confiscated. Report filed.
11:25 a.m.—Suspicious person reported at Lebanon Hills Park. Caller said that a white male, with short hair or a bald head, was taking photos of people on the beach with a long lens. The reporting party said that they startled the suspect who hustled into a red Cavalier and sped off.
11:50 p.m.—Caller stated that an expensive Gucci belt was stolen off of their son's waist while he was drunk, passed out, at a party somewhere in Eagan. The 16-year-old was apparently at an address on Kings Road when the theft occurred.
