Builder Pitches 107-lot Single Family Home Development to Apple Valley

Also on deck—the Rosemount City Council will choose a contractor for the Flint Hills project.

This week, the Apple Valley Planning Commission will consider Quarry Ponds, a new housing development that will transform 46 acres of land used for sand and gravel mining into a 56-acre subdivision with 107 single-family lots. The tract of land in question is on the north side of County Road 46 and a quarter mile west of Pilot Knob Road. The commission will also consider the use of USAgain Clothing Boxes in town. The commission meets at the Apple Valley Municipal Center (7100 147th Street West) at 7 p.m. To see the entire agenda, click here.

In other government news:
• On Tuesday, the Rosemount City Council will consider a proposal to make the city a stop on the Zip Rail project (a high speed train from Rochester to the Twin Cities).
