Heavy Rains Headed Our Way

The National Weather Service is predicting 2-3 inches of rain in the metro area starting Wednesday evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for and the Twin Cities area beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Forecasters predict that a cold front will move into the area over Wednesday and Thursday, bringing with it showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall totals may exceed three inches in some locations, though most of area affected by the watch will likely receive 2-3 inches.

The chance of showers is 100 percent on Wednesday evening, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation on Thursday.
