On the second day of June, surveillance footage showed two men buying $4,215 worth of electronics from the Shakopee Walmart using a credit card that turned out to be stolen in a Rosemount garage burglary.
Three days later, the same credit cards were used to buy $2,470 worth of electronics from Walmart and $1,804 of gift cards from a Savage convenience store.
Now, 22-year-old Savage man, Palagor Obang Jobi, is being charged with two felony counts of financial transaction fraud, the Shakopee Valley News is reporting.
Dakota County detectives investigating a separate case of credit card theft, identified Jobi from the Shakopee surveillance video and found in his apartment products iPads and other merchandise with stolen cards. Police said that Jobi admitted making the purchases from Walmart and that he referred to his criminal past as his "old life," acccording to the paper.
