Road Work Along Cedar Avenue: Sept. 12-18

New road work slated for Cedar Avenue this week:

• The left thru lane on southbound Cedar beginning at 153rd Street West will be closed during non-rush hour on Monday, to work on traffic signals.

• The traffic signals at 157th Street West and Cedar will flash red during non-rush hours on Monday as crews work to remove the signal system.

• Beginning Monday and lasting several weeks, only one lane of westbound 160th Street West will be open between Garrett Path and Granada Avenue. Only one lane will be open on eastbound 160th between Granada and Cedar, as well. Right turn lanes will be closed, but cars will still be able to turn right from the thru lanes.

• Cedar will be closed between 150th Street West and 155th Street West/Whitney Drive from 10 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday for storm sewer work.

Existing road and lane closures that will continue are:

• closure of sidewalks along both sides of Cedar from 147th to 157th streets. These began July 25.

• closure of northbound and southbound lanes of Cedar between 147th Street in Apple Valley and Dodd Boulevard.

• traffic cannot cross Cedar or turn left in Lakeville at 162nd, 167th or Upper 167th streets.

• closure of the northbound and southbound Apple Valley transit stations at 155th Street West and Cedar, for utility work. Buses will pick up and drop off at the old transit station on Gaslight Lane during this time. Riders still are advised to park in the ramp near the newer stations and walk to the old station. The stations closure is slated to continue through October.
