Tornado Watch Expired; Was in Effect for Apple Valley Until 9 p.m. Tuesday

The National Weather Service also issued tornado warnings Tuesday afternoon; a warning is in effect for northeastern parts of Dakota County and Washington County, including the Rosemount area until 2:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 9 p.m. Tuesday for Apple Valley, Dakota County and 12 other Minnesota counties.

The NWS also issued multiple tornado warnings for parts of Dakota County on Tuesday afternoon; a warning is in effect for northeastern parts of Dakota County—Rosemount, Eagan, Inver Grove Heights and Mendota Heights—and Washington County until 2:45 p.m.

The NWS advises to watch for storms that could become severe on Tuesday; anyone in the path of such storms should stay inside a sturdy structure and away from windows.
