VIDEO: Eastview High Grad Falls Short with Buble Song on NBC's 'The Voice'

Dustin Hatzenbuhler said it was still "the best day of my life" after celebrity judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher cut him from "The Voice" during the blind audition round.

Eastview High School graduate Dustin Hatzenbuhler's rendition of the Michael Buble’s “Haven’t Met You Yet” didn't pack enough punch to turn the chairs of the judges Tuesday night on NBC's "The Voice".

But Adam Levine and Shakira told the 24-year-old during the blind audition round that he should keep trying to make it on the hit singing competition, and Hatzenbuhler's spirit remained strong.

"This is the best day of my life," he said. "The feedback they gave was great and I'm going to put it in my heart and take it home, and I would love to come back and give this another shot."

Hatzenbuhler is living in Minneapolis with his parents, who supported his decision to skip college and release a solo album.

Levine was taken aback at the length of Hatzenbuhler's last name.

"Wow, okay, that's a long one," he said.

But Hatzenbuhler's performance Tuesday night went off key and Usher and Shakira chose not to pick him for their teams.

"The way that that song was originally delivered, it swings, and it wasn't swinging for me," Levine said.

"The swag wasn't right, it felt like a showtune to me," Usher added.

"A little bit, and I wanted it to feel more like Sinatra," Levine said.
