Winter Storm Warning Issued For Rosemount

The National Weather Service has issued a snow warning that begins late Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for south and central Minnesota. Rosemount falls into the warning's coverage area.

The NWS doesn't expect snow to begin falling until late Saturday, but by the time it's all over sometime Monday, the forecast is for 10-12 inches of snow accumulation in Rosemount.

Gusts could reach 15-30 mph, the NWS reports. They also warn there could be patches of freezing rain on Sunday, especially along the Wisconsin border.

Officials advise against travel in the expected conditions. For those who travel, plan to allow for extra time and bring with food, water and a flashlight.
