Bowler's Blog: Spring Leagues, Week 1

The spring leagues at Apple Place Bowl got off to a great start this week.

The spring leagues at got off to a great start this week. We've seen a ton of new faces and welcome everyone with open arms to enjoy themselves at our establishment. In a game that anyone can play, we love to see people come out and have an enjoyable bowling experience, no matter who you are and what your skill level may be. The spring season started off with our Adult Youth league on Tuesday night.

Adult Youth is always a great league to bowl in if you're a first timer, or are just looking for something to do with your kids. This year's league is smaller in size, but is full of fun. The four-team league has a couple of experienced bowlers, the high score of the week coming from Vic with a solid 505 series. High score from the kids this week came from Adam, breaking 100 all three games and finishing with a 355 series to start off the season.

Wednesday nights consist of a 9-Pin mixed league, which means you only need to knock 9 pins over to get a strike. This group is really great and loves to have a good time. Most of the bowlers are relatively new as well but they seemed to all have a blast while bowling for the first time this week. Thomas lead all guys with games of 225, 228, and 244 for a big 697 series to start off the season. Genna had a big night leading all the ladies shooting 245, 210, and 211 totaling 676 and another great start to the season.

Finally, Thursday nights is a first time league for us here at Apple Place; a singles league consisting only of one-on-one match points. We only have eight guys bowling, but it should be a good time with good competition being that this league is full of experienced bowlers. Twin brothers Zach and Luke Kujawa faced off with Luke winning all three games and series. Mitch Walters and Thomas Joseph had a little closer battle with Thomas winning 2 games and series, while Danny Petersen defeated Aaron Skelly in similar fashion. My brother, Jeremy, and I faced off in the final match with him winning two out of three games, plus series. He also had high series with a 697.

Check back for a weekly Bowler's Blog, including results of the Honor Board Tournament this Thursday night.
