Shill—A Forgotten Term

Who is helping sell a pig in a poke?

Shill – a forgotten term

For those of you in what is currently MN Senate District 36 you should refresh yourselves with the term “shill”.

The shill is the person who tells you that the pig in the poke is a fine pig and suggests there is no need to examine the contents.

The shill in this case is your Senator Dave Thompson. In what he fashions as the right to work bill he keeps telling you how good that pig is in that poke. It is such a fine pig he wants it in the MN constitution.

Of the top twenty states having higher wages, only three of them have right to work legislation. Aside from those three all other right to work states rank low for wages.

It is historical fact that right to work suppresses wages across the board. It will come to pass that Minnesota will over time decline and join the lower wage states if this amendment succeeds.

Whoever steps forward against Thompson vote them in, get rid of this shill and don’t buy the pig in the poke. It is a lousy pig. The MN constitution is not a sty.

Here in current Senate District 37 we can expect Gerlach, Bills and Mack to support this amendment. They are all for the right to work for less. Give trickle down another thirty years and there will be low paying jobs.

There are alternatives this fall on the ballot.
