Apple Valley Driver Crashes Into Wheelchair-Bound Pedestrian, Police Say

The 20-year-old Apple Valley woman allegedly hit a pedestrian who was in a crosswalk while the do-not-walk sign was illuminated.

A 20-year-old Apple Valley woman allegedly hit a wheelchair-bound pedestrian with her car shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday, near Hiawatha Avenue and East 32nd Street in Minneapolis, according to a Fox 9 news brief and a Minnesota State Patrol report.

The 34-year-old pedestrian, who was in critical condition Tuesday morning after the crash and whose name was not released, allegedly was in a crosswalk while the do-not-walk light was illuminated, according to the state patrol report; the car, driven by Kayla E. Hahn, allegedly had a green light to go through the intersection.

Hahn received minor injuries, according to the state patrol report. She was not arrested, according to Fox 9.
