Bloomington Man Charged with Burglarizing Two Apple Valley Homes
Tiron Chayvon Brown, 23, made off with plenty of loot from both burglaries, according to police.
A Bloomington man made off with a specialized mountain bike, guns, a laptop, a 42-inch TV and a handful of other valuable items during two burglaries in Apple Valley, according to investigators.
Tiron Chayvon Brown, 23, was charged with one felony count of first-degree burglary with a dangerous weapon, one felony count of second-degree burglary and one gross misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property. If convicted on the first charge, Brown could face a maximum of 20 years in prison and $35,000 in fines.
Apple Valley police were called to a home on the 100 block of Hayes Road at 3:45 p.m. on April 23 by a resident who claimed a laptop, three guns, two valuable books and a mountain bike had been stolen from the home.
During the subsequent investigation, police learned that the mountain bike was sold at a pawn shop in Burnsville. The person who pawned the bike was identified from security footage as Brown, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Dakota County Attorney's Office.
On May 9, police executed a search warrant on Brown's home, and found a .22-caliber gun that had been taken from the home in Apple Valley, according to the complaint. Police also found several pieces of new jewelry with the tags still attached to the pieces.
Officers were also able to link Brown to a Jan. 18 burglary on the 1400 block of Evergreen Trail in Apple Valley, after Brown's DNA was found on a tire iron left at the scene. In that incident, police say Brown stole a 42-inch plasma television, a gold necklace, sports trading card, a signed football, a 32-inch TV and other items.
