Family, Friends Scouring Dakota County for U Student Who Was Last Seen in Rosemount

Authorities believe Anarae Schunk, 20, of Burnsville is dead after they found a bloody jacket that was punctured by 18 to 20 holes, possibly indicating stab wounds.

Volunteers, family and friends scoured fields and parks in Dakota County this weekend as they continued the search for Anarae Schunk, a missing Burnsville woman who was witness to a murder earlier this month and police believe has been killed as well. 

Burnsville Police reported they believe Schunk was dead, but did not disseminate why they came to such a conclusion. 

Family members to media over the weekend Schunk's jacket was found with blood stains and 18 to 20 holes , which investigators believe indicate stab wounds. 

Schunk was last seen in Rosemount with Shavelle Chavez-Nelson and his current girlfriend, Ashley Conrade at Conrade's townhome. Chavez-Nelson has been arrested and charged with killing a man at Nina's Grill shortly before 2 a.m. on Sept. 22. Video shows Chavez-Nelson, Conrade and Schunk together at the restaurant during that day. 

Searchers were scouring Lilydale and empty areas in Rosemount for any sign of Schunk. Her brother, Tyson, also told volunteers to serach an area near Lilydale and Pikcerel Lake, according to an article in the Star Tribune. 

He and his brother, Owen, also asked people look around a quarry on Dakota County Road 46, and the adjacent UMore Park.
