A lightning strike to a gas meter Sunday night is believed to have significantly damaged one home and caused minor damage to another. Nobody was injured.

One home was significantly damaged, but nobody was injured, after two Apple Valley homes caught fire Sunday night due to a lightning strike.

responded to a report of a house fire on Lower 131st Street Ct. at about 11:15 p.m., according to a WCCO story.

Lightning apparently had struck a gas meter on one of the homes, and then a neighboring house caught on fire through the gas line, the story says, "significantly" damaging one home and causing minor damage to the other.

According to scanner reports, the Rosemount Fire Department assisted.
