Rosemount Woman Facing Felony Drug Charges

Authorities say they confiscated almost 72 grams of marijuana from Michelle Lynn Strandberg's home.

A Rosemount woman has been charged with felony drug possession after authorities confiscated almost 72 grams of marijuana from her home.

Michelle Lynn Strandberg, 35, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She faces a maximum penalty on the possession charge of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, filed this week in Dakota County District Court in Hastings, agents from the Dakota County Drug Task Force and Rosemount police executed a search warrant at Strandberg’s home in the 4100 block of 151st Street West on March 9.

When officers entered the home, they found Strandberg near the top of the stairs, holding a plastic bag and a black jar containing several plastic bags, the complaint says. All the bags contained a “green, leafy substance,” according to the complaint.

Strandberg’s two small children were in the home at the time, the complaint says.

Besides the 20 plastic bags of marijuana that Strandberg was holding, authorities found another bag of marijuana in her purse, along with two marijuana pipes and a scale, according to the complaint.

A jar containing “unknown pills” was found in a kitchen cabinet, and “miscellaneous marijuana paraphernalia” was found on top of the dresser in Strandberg’s bedroom, the complaint says.

Strandberg admitted to officers that she had smoked marijuana that morning and that some of the marijuana-related items belonged to her.

She is scheduled to make a first appearance on the charges June 6 in Dakota County District Court in Hastings.

Strandberg is also facing three earlier felony charges of fifth-degree drug possession. She was charged in February with forging a prescription for Adderall in one of her children’s names and attempting to have it filled at a Rosemount pharmacy.

When Strandberg showed up at the pharmacy to pick up the prescription, she was arrested and admitted to officers that she had forged the prescription, signing it with the name of a physician’s assistant at a hospital sleep center, according to that complaint.
