A Tragedy Averted

Deputies responded to a car that went off the road in the area of Blackbird and Ravenna Trail.  The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle, which was very fortunate.

The car slidinto a fence, resulting in a support post coming through the windshield on the passenger’s side of the car. As the photo shows, had there been a passenger in the car they would have been seriously injured and possibly killed. Deputy Brian Smidt responded to the call.

The Program is Working

This past week, Detective Thomas Jacobson transported over 1,500 pounds of prescription medications that were taken in as part of the drop off program to be destroyed.

In Dakota County, the number of drop off locations will be expanding from the current three, to seven more locations over the next two months. We will include the new locations once they are up and running.
