Wednesday Hearing for Apple Valley Murder Suspect Canceled by Defense Attorneys

Roger Earl Holland, whose bail was set at $1 Million Monday, had a court hearing scheduled for March 13.

 

Wednesday's court hearing for Roger Earl Holland, 36, of Apple Valley, was canceled today by his defense attorneys.

Holland was charged Monday with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, Margorie Ann Holland, 37, and the couple's unborn child. The criminal complaint released by Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom alleges that he to make it look like she had fallen down the stairs.

"We just had set the date (March 13) in the event we needed to handle any miscellaneous issues and at this point the hearing is not needed," Defense Attorney Marsh Halberg of Halberg Criminal Defense wrote in an email to Patch.

Roger Holland's next court appearance is set for April 3.
