Apple Valley's Coleen Rowley Meets With Edward Snowden

The former DFL candidate and FBI agent met with the former CIA and NSA employee in Russia.

Coleen Rowley traveled to Russia last week to meet former National Security Agency employee Edward Snowden, according to the Associated Press (AP).

Rowley of Apple Valley is a former FBI agent who testified before Congress about the mishandling of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She ran for Minnesota's 2nd congressional district seat in 2006.

Snowden is charged with "violating the Espionage Act for disclosing the NSA's surveillance of phone and Internet usage around the world," according to the AP report.

The AP story said Rowley and three other former government officials gave Snowden the "Sam Adams Award for Integrity in Intelligence."

Rowley and the others would not say where Snowden is living or where they met with him.
