Interstate 35E Construction Moves North in June

Expect delays as MnDOT reduces northbound and southbound traffic to a single lane from Apple Valley to Cliff Road.

The road work may have already started on Interstate 35E, but the most significant portions of the project—and the worst traffic headaches—have yet to come.

Starting in mid-June, the northbound and southbound sides of the interstate will be reduced to a single lane from just north of 150th Street in Apple Valley to Cliff Road in Eagan as the Minnesota Department of Transportation repairs bridges and does surfacing work.

No hard dates have yet been set for the lane closures, but once implemented, the closures will likely remain in effect for at least 30 days.

When the second phase of road construction in Apple Valley and Eagan is complete, MnDOT will move south. The agency plans to reduce northbound and southbound traffic to a single lane on I-35 between 150th Street and Elko-New Market starting July 2013 and running through November.
