MN State Patrol: Michael Brodkorb's Alcohol Level Was Over Legal Limit At Time of Crash
The former Republican staffer was seriously injured in a crash in late January.

The Minnesota State Patrol announced late Thursday afternoon that Michael Brodkorb's alcohol level was over the legal limit for impairment when he was seriously injured in a car crash last month on Interstate 35E in Mendota Heights.

The former Republican staffer had an alcohol concentration of 0.10, above the limit of 0.08 for impaired driving, according to a urine sample analyzed by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Brodkorb was seriously injured after a vehicle he was driving struck the I-35E median wall Jan. 23. Brodkorb was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

His wife, Sarah, issued a statement on his improvement one week later.
Brodkorb rose to prominence as the chief spokesman of the Minnesota Senate Republican caucus. He was fired in 2012 when his affair with then Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch, of Wright County, became public.
The State Patrol says the case has been submitted to Lilydale City Attorney Tom Lehmann for review and possible charges.
